School Gymnasium Refurbishment Electrical & Mechanical Electrical Services

Electrotec carried out the full electrical fit-out for the upper gymnasium repairs and refurbishment at a school in Auckland, covering both general electrical services and the electrical support for all new mechanical plant. The project involved two new distribution boards, a full lighting and emergency lighting upgrade across the gymnasium, pool changing facilities and first-floor staff areas, and new power and data reticulation throughout the building.

Scope of Works

  • Lighting — Full LED lighting upgrade across the gymnasium, weights room, changing rooms, pool floor and first-floor staff areas, with zoned emergency lighting circuits controlled via a Legrand 8-channel phase-sensing emergency lighting system
  • Emergency & handrail lighting — Twinspot emergency lighting to escape routes and perimeter fencing,
plus fire-rated cabling to integrated LED handrail lighting with dedicated battery back-up
  • Power & data — New power and data outlets throughout the gymnasium, weights room, staff workroom
and offices, including WAP outlets, catenary wiring for perimeter data reach, and a new Cat6A structured cabling installation
