Rutherford College’s new Administration Building at 18-20 Kotuku Street, Te Atatu Peninsula, is a purpose-built single-level facility housing the school’s principal, reception, board room, business management, finance, foundation staff, data management, and support spaces. Electrotec completed the full electrical and data installation for this new build, engineered by 22 Degrees and designed for Rutherford College Board of Trustees.

Works included a new main switchboard fed from the existing site MSB, distribution boards throughout the building, and comprehensive power installation across all office and administration spaces. The lighting installation covers recessed downlights, surface-mounted troffers, suspended direct/indirect linear fittings, and occupancy sensor controls, with a full emergency lighting and exit signage system compliant with AS/NZS 2293. Data and communications works included a new 24RU wall-mounted data cabinet, Cat 6A structured cabling throughout all workspaces, WAP outlets, and a new ELV pit for data reticulation with connection back to the school’s main server room. Additional works covered kitchen appliance connections, hot water heater, and a 300mm shared services cable tray running through the ceiling void for main ELV and LV cable reticulation across the building.
